This is a curated definition-file package for calibrators working with heavy-duty and industrial ECU binaries. It combines A2L descriptions and WinOLS KP map packs for several engine-controller families, giving an editor meaningful labels, axes and addresses instead of an unstructured hexadecimal dump.
The files are reference definitions rather than ready-made tuned binaries. A definition must match the exact software number and memory layout of the original read before any map is trusted or changed.

System and interface requirements#
- Windows workstation with WinOLS or another compatible calibration editor
- Original ECU read with a verified checksum and known hardware/software identifiers
- Enough free space for working copies and comparison projects; the definition package itself is modest in size
- No vehicle interface is required merely to inspect definitions, but a suitable programmer is required to read or write an ECU
Recommended workshop workflow#
- Record the ECU hardware number, software number and read method before opening the project
- Create a read-only backup of the original binary and import only the definition most closely matching that identity
- Validate several known maps, axes and limit values before accepting the definition as a match
- Make changes in a separate project, correct checksums with an appropriate method and compare the output against the untouched original
Compatibility limits and responsible use#
- A map pack for a similar engine is not proof of compatibility
- Addresses can shift between software revisions even when the ECU hardware family is unchanged
- The package does not provide an automatic tuning strategy, emissions solution or safe torque target
- Never write a file solely because WinOLS accepted the definition without errors
Troubleshooting#
- If values or axes look implausible, stop and re-check byte order, file size and software identity
- If a KP imports with missing maps, verify that the project binary starts at the expected address
- For duplicate-looking definitions, compare their software identifiers and hashes rather than choosing by filename alone
