HP Tuners ECU Unlocker is a file-based utility for preparing supported locked controller reads so they can be handled in an HP Tuners-oriented calibration workflow. The user selects a controller profile, loads the corresponding read and creates an unlocked working file; it does not connect to the vehicle by itself.
The selectable profiles visible in this build include several Chrysler/FCA GPEC generations, selected GM engine and transmission controllers and a Bosch diesel controller. A profile appearing in the list is not proof that every hardware or software revision is compatible.

What this resource is for#
Use the application only with a complete read taken from the intended controller and after ownership and authorization are established. The utility changes file data; bench unlocking, boot access, physical module work and subsequent flashing remain separate operations.Confirmed functions#
- Controller-profile selection before a file is opened
- Offline processing of a locked ECU or TCM read
- Simple browse-and-unlock workflow intended to produce an editor-compatible working file
- Bundled installation video for the supplied application and license helper
Supported controllers, files and vehicles#
- GPEC2 and GPEC2A profiles, including separate later-software selections shown in the interface
- GPEC3 and GPEC4
- E42 and E66 controller profiles
- T87A and T93 transmission-controller profiles
- Bosch MD1CP062
- Coverage must be verified using controller hardware number, software number and read size
Package contents#
- Main ECU unlocker application
- License helper supplied with this distribution
- Installation and workflow video
- Both executables are unsigned and were inspected statically only; no malware-clean claim is made
System and interface requirements#
- Windows workstation or isolated virtual machine
- A full, correct controller read obtained with suitable hardware
- HP Tuners or another appropriate editor for the later calibration stage
- Stable recovery method capable of restoring the original controller data if the processed file is rejected
Recommended workshop workflow#
- Identify the module from its label and diagnostic information before reading
- Create and hash an immutable backup with a supported bench, boot or service method
- Select the exact controller profile and process only a copy of the read
- Compare the generated file with the original and verify that changes are limited to the expected lock area
- Open the result in the intended editor and follow a proven write procedure with stable power
Compatibility limits and responsible use#
- The utility does not unlock a module physically or bypass a required bench service step
- A wrong profile can corrupt a valid read even if file size looks plausible
- Online licensing, credits and hardware support are separate from this offline package
- Never infer vehicle coverage solely from make, model or model year
Troubleshooting#
- If the file is rejected, confirm that it is a full read rather than a calibration-only segment
- If an editor still reports a locked file, verify that the correct module generation was selected
- If a write fails, stop and recover with the original file and the programmer vendor’s documented method
