That is a good start. If you have the Diagnostic certificate installed in ZenZefi, you should theoretically be able to communicate with the car.

However, for the EQE (Gen20x), simply having *a* diagnostic certificate is not always enough. The certificate must specifically have the rights/roles to perform "Write" operations and "Routine Control" on the High Voltage components. Many standard certificates only allow "Read" access.

Here is how to test if your certificate is sufficient in DTS Monaco:

  1. Open DTS Monaco and load the project for the EQE (V295).
  2. Connect to the BMS (Battery Management System) or BMS_Gen5 (depending on the specific variant).
  3. Go to the Diagnostic Services tab.
  4. Look for a service named

To see the download link, you usually need to react to the first post of the thread (Page 1).

1. Go to the first post.
2. Look for the Like or Thanks button (usually a thumbs-up icon or text) at the bottom-right corner of that post.
3. Click it.
4. Refresh the page (press F5).

The hidden content (the download link) should now be visible.

There is no universal activation code for DTS Monaco. The liсеnsе is tied to your specific computer's Hardware ID.

You need to generate the code yourself using the tools included in the download:

  • Look for a folder named kеуgеn, раtсh, or Medicine inside the archive.
  • Run the kеуgеn.
  • Copy the Hardware ID displayed when you launch DTS Monaco.
  • Paste it into the kеуgеn to generate your valid liсеnsе key.

"Regular Xentry" is much easier to use than DTS Monaco, but on an EQE (Gen20x), it has a major limitation: it usually requires an Online Dealer Login to perform HV unlocks.

If your ZenZefi certificates are installed correctly on the system level, Xentry might use them, but often Xentry forces a check against the Daimler server, which will fail if you are offline.

Here is how to try it in Xentry:

  • Go to Control Units -> Drive.
  • Select N82/2 - Battery Management System (BMS).
  • Go to the Actuations tab (sometimes found under Special Procedures or Teach-in processes).
  • Look for a line that says "Activation of high-voltage on-board electrical system" or "Reset crash data".
  • Follow the on-screen prompts.

If Xentry asks for a username/password or says "Online connection required," you cannot use Xentry. You will have to go back to DTS Monaco.

In DTS Monaco, the "hard" part is just finding the button. It is not magic.
  • Open the workspace.
  • Double-click the BMS ECU to open it.
  • Find the Routine Control button (looks like a hand pressing a button).
  • Select the routine HV_Activation (or similar).
  • Click Start.

No, they are completely different tools, even though they are often downloaded and installed together.

  • Xentry is the Dealer software. It is designed for mechanics. It is guided, has pictures, and tells you step-by-step what to do. It is "safe" and user-friendly.
  • DTS Monaco is the Engineering software. It is designed for the engineers who build the car's software. It has no pictures, no guides, and it gives you raw access to the car's brain.

Why this matters for your EQE:
  • If you use Xentry to try to unlock the battery, it will likely stop you and ask for an Online Dealer Login. Since you don't have one, you will get stuck.
  • If you use DTS Monaco, you can bураss the online login requirement *if* you have the correct ZenZefi certificates installed. It allows you to send the "Unlock" command directly to the ECU without asking the Mercedes server for permission.

If you are having a hard time installing them, it is usually because setting up the interface (VCI) is tricky. Are you trying to install the Passthru version (for cables like Openport/Scanmatik) or the OpenShell version (for C4/C5/C6 multiplexers)?

  • Install the Driver: Inside VX Manager, go to the "Diagnostic" tab and install the "Benz C6" or "Passthru" driver.
  • DTS Monaco Setup: When you open DTS Monaco, you will need to configure the interface.
    • Open the "System Configurator" or "Interfaces" menu.
    • Add a new interface.
    • Select Smarte (for J2534) or the specific VXDIAG option if available.

Important for EQE:
Since the EQE uses Ethernet for many communications, make sure the "DoIP" switch is enabled in the VX Manager settings if you see it. 2. "Active Distance" (Distronic/Radar)

No, calibration will not fix it if the sensor is physically pointing at the ground or the sky. The software can only compensate for small deviations (usually around +/- 3 degrees).

Will it tell you the degrees?
Yes. In Xentry, before you start the driving calibration, there is a step called "Check adjustment of sensor" (or similar under Actual Values).

It will show you two values:
  • Azimuth (Horizontal angle - Left/Right)
  • Elevation (Vertical angle - Up/Down)

The Process:

1. Check the Values
Connect Xentry and look at those angles.
  • If they are close to 0° (e.g., 0.5°, -1.2°), you are good to drive.
  • If you see something like 4.5° or "Value out of range", you must physically adjust it first.

2. Physical Alignment
There are usually two adjustment screws on the radar sensor body (one for Up/Down, one for Left/Right). You turn them with a hex key/torx driver while watching the values in Xentry update until they are close to 0°.

3. The Drive
Once the physical angle is within tolerance, you start the Dynamic Calibration in Xentry and drive the car. The software will then fine-tune itself to lock in the final position.

Warning: Since this is a crashed car, check the plastic bracket holding the radar. If the bracket is сrаскed or loose, the sensor will vibrate while driving, and the calibration will fail every time.
 
Do I have to be on WiFi ?

For the Radar Calibration drive, the answer is NO.

In fact, it is better if you are NOT connected to the internet.

Here is why:

  • The Connection: The communication happens between your Laptop and the Car (via the VCX SE). This does not require the internet.
  • Stability: If you are using a "patched" or "offline" version of Xentry (which 99% of forum downloads are), connecting to the internet can sometimes cause the liсеnsе check to fail or the software to try to update and lock you out.
  • The Drive: You will be driving on a public road. Your laptop needs to stay awake and connected to the VCI. You do not need a hotspot.

Important Note on the VCX SE:
The VCX SE device itself has "WiFi" to connect to your laptop wirelessly (so you don't need a USB cable across your lap while driving).
  • Safe to use: You can use the VCX WiFi to connect the dongle to the laptop for reading codes or calibration.
  • Better option: For critical tasks (like flashing or unlocking the HV system), always use the USB cable. If the WiFi drops for 1 second during a critical command, the process will fail.

Summary: Turn off your laptop's internet WiFi. Connect the VCX SE via USB cable. Go drive.

Yes, absolutely. DTS Monaco is just an empty shell without a "Project."

A Project contains the database files that tell the software how to talk to your specific car. Without it, DTS Monaco won't know which commands to send or how to read the responses.

For your EQE (which is a very new car), you specifically need SMR-D files.
(Older cars used CBF files, but the EQE uses the newer SMR-D standard).

Where do you get them?
If you have Xentry installed on the same laptop, you likely already have the files on your hard drive. You just need to "import" them into DTS Monaco.

1. Open the DTS Monaco System Configurator.
2. Go to the Project Administration tab.
3. Create a new project (or right-click -> Import).
4. When asked for the source files, look in this folder:
