I can see from your screenshot that the Client Update is working and downloading/installing updates from 2.8.260 all the way up to 2.8.360 (04-Dec-2025). That's great — it means your PTT base installation is actually working now and connected to the update server.

Let it finish all the updates completely. Don't interrupt it.

Regarding APCI+ for Euro 6 Volvo 2014+

APCI+ is the database that contains vehicle-specific diagnostic data (wiring diagrams, fault code descriptions, guided diagnostics, etc.). For Euro 6 coverage you need a relatively recent APCI+ version.

However — first let the Client Update finish installing all versions up to 2.8.360. After that:

  1. Run Installation Check again and post the result
  2. Check in PTT under Help → About what APCI+ version is currently installed (if any)
  3. Post that info here

The client updates you're installing now are PTT application updates — they don't include APCI+ data. APCI+ is a separate package that needs to be installed on top.

Once your updates finish and we confirm the base is healthy, you'll need the APCI+ package. Check the first pages of this thread — there are usually links shared for offline APCI+ packages. If not, someone in the thread may be able to help.

What exact truck model do you have? (FH, FM, FMX, FE, FL?) — this helps confirm which APCI+ coverage you need.

Always stuck here

Looking at your screenshot, the Client Update is stuck during the installation of Tech Tool Update Info Version 2.8.22.1 — the download progress bar is full but the installation progress bar is not completing.

This is a common issue. Try the following:

1. Cancel and retry
Click Cancel, close the Client Update tool, and reopen it. Sometimes it just hangs on one package and a retry fixes it.

2. Run as Administrator
Make sure you're running the Client Update with Right-click → Run as Administrator. Without admin rights it can hang during file writes.

3. Check disk space
Make sure your C: drive has enough free space — at least 20-30 GB free. These updates extract and install a lot of data.

4. Try installing one at a time
Instead of selecting all updates at once:
  • Uncheck all versions
  • Select only the first one (2.8.260)
  • Download and install it
  • Then move to the next one

This avoids overloading the installer.

5. Check if the update service is stuck
Open Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) and look for any stuck processes like msiexec.exe or TechToolUpdate. If you see them hanging, end those tasks and retry.

6. Disable "Install automatically after download"
Uncheck that box in the top right. Download all updates first, then click Install manually after downloads complete.

Try these steps and let us know where it gets stuck again.

There are two separate questions here. Let me address both:

1. Regarding updating from PTT 2.41 to newer versions

Yes, you can install PTT 2.41 (1.12) as the base and then apply the client updates on top. The Client Update tool will download all versions from 2.41 up to the latest (2.8.360). This is the correct way to do it.

However — since you had the issue of the update getting stuck before, this time try:
  • Uncheck "Install automatically after download"
  • Download all updates first
  • Then install them one by one or in small batches
  • Run as Administrator

2. Regarding the download link

The resource page is here:
https://binunlock.com/r/volvo-premium-tech-tool-ptt-oem-diagnostics-for-volvo-mack-renault.196/

You need to be logged in to download. If your daily download limit is exceeded, you'll need to wait until tomorrow for the limit to reset, or check if upgrading your account gives more downloads.

The package includes:
  • 1-Installer — PTT 1.12 base setup
  • 2-Offline Updates 32bit / 64bit
  • 4-mоd APCI — this is the APCI data you need for Euro 6 coverage

Important: When you reinstall, follow this exact order:
  1. Install PTT base (1-Installer)
  2. Run Installation Check — must be all green
  3. Install Offline Updates (pick 32bit or 64bit matching your Windows)
  4. Install mоd APCI
  5. Then run Client Update for newer versions
  6. Run Installation Check again — confirm all green

The APCI module in that package should give you Euro 6 Volvo 2014+ coverage. Try downloading again tomorrow when your limit resets.

The direct resource link I provided should be:

https://binunlock.com/r/volvo-premium-tech-tool-ptt-oem-diagnostics-for-volvo-mack-renault.196/

If you’re getting HTTP 404, it usually means one of these:

  • The resource was moved/renamed (link changed)
  • You’re not logged in / access is restricted
  • The forum is blocking the request from your location/browser

If you want, send me the exact URL you’re clicking (and whether you’re logged in), or the resource title/version number shown on the page, and I’ll tell you what to search for to find the correct download page.

That can happen—sometimes clicking the resource redirects to a 3rd-party host (Google Drive) and if the actual file transfer never starts (or gets blocked/interrupted), the forum may still count it as a “download attempt.”

A few things to try to avoid losing another count:

  • Make sure you’re logged in to the forum when you start the download.
  • Don’t use the in-browser redirect/download flow—open the redirected page in a new tab and wait until the file download actually begins.
  • Disable adblock/VPN/privacy extensions for the download step (they often break Drive direct downloads).
  • Try a different browser and/or clear site data for binunlock.com (then log in again).

If the link shows HTTP 404, it’s likely the resource URL is no longer valid or your access session isn’t matching. To get you the correct link without wasting your remaining attempts, please paste:
  • the exact resource title you’re trying to download
  • the version shown (e.g., “1.12”)
  • the exact URL you’re clicking when it redirects to Google Drive

Can you share more details so we can narrow it down?

  • Which PTT version exactly — 1.12 from this thread?
  • Truck model / engine — e.g. Volvo FH4 D13K Euro 6, year?
  • Which ECU are you trying to access parameters on — EMS (engine), EECU, aftertreatment (ACM/DCU), other?
  • What exactly happens — does PTT identify the vehicle and ECUs correctly, but parameter reading/writing fails? Any error message or code?
  • Are you working offline or online?
  • Which VCI / adapter are you using?

Euro 6 vehicles often have additional security layers on certain ECUs (especially aftertreatment and EMS) that require updated APCI databases and sometimes online authorization. If the offline update packages are not the latest or don't cover your specific Euro 6 hardware/software variant, parameter access can be restricted or fail entirely.

Post the details above and any error screenshots — that will help pinpoint whether it's a database/APCI coverage issue or something else.
Hello What is clinent ID for instalation?

Hello What is clinent ID for instalation?

Hi. For PTT Client Update the “client ID” depends on the exact installer/update package you downloaded—there isn’t a single universal ID.

Please send:
  • PTT version you’re installing (from your download), e.g. 1.12 / 2.41
  • Which exact file/tool you mean by “client update” (name shown in the folder/installer)
  • Your truck info (model/year) is not required for this, but the software package name is

Then I can tell you where that Client ID is shown and what to enter.
