iDecoder 4.5#
iDecoder is an offline Windows utility for processing supported automotive ECU, immobilizer, dashboard and body-module memory dumps.
Depending on the selected vehicle and control-unit family, the software can perform IMMO OFF, virgin reset, PIN and VIN extraction, CS/MAC recovery, ISN processing, PCR2.1 unlock, DPF/EGR/DTC removal, TVA disabling and hot-start correction.
The program works with supported EEPROM, internal flash and external flash files. It does not read or write a physical ECU directly; the required memory dump must be obtained separately with compatible professional equipment.
Main Functions#
- IMMO OFF for supported engine control units
- Virgin reset for compatible ECU dumps
- PIN and VIN extraction from ECU, CIM, BCM, IPC, radio and display files
- CS and MAC extraction for supported VAG ECUs
- BMW EWS OFF and ISN processing
- DPF, EGR and individual DTC processing for supported files
- TVA Off for compatible Opel/Vauxhall ECUs
- Hot-start correction for supported VAG EDC16 files

Compatibility note: Support depends on the exact ECU type, software version, dump size and memory layout. A file using the listed memory type is not automatically guaranteed to be compatible.
Package Contents#
The downloaded package contains:
- START-iDecoder.exe — required application launcher
- Runtime — main program files and required runtime components
Keep the launcher and the complete Runtime folder together. Do not rename, move or delete files from the Runtime directory.
Installation and Activation#
- Create a separate installation directory, for example:
C:\iDecoder\ - Fully extract the ZIP archive into this directory. Do not run the program directly from the archive.
- If the extracted package contains an additional internal folder, keep its complete structure unchanged.
- Launch only:
START-iDecoder.exe - At the first launch, the program will display a personal 16-character HWID.
- Copy the complete HWID and post it in the Discussion thread of this resource.
- After processing, you will receive a personal Windows Registry license file with a name similar to:
CC22203D07654137.reg - Close iDecoder before installing the license.
- Double-click the received .reg file and confirm that its information may be added to the Windows Registry.
- Launch START-iDecoder.exe again.
The registry filename shown above is only an example. Every user receives a different file generated for the submitted HWID.
Do not launch Runtime\iDecoder.exe directly.
The internal executable depends on the supplied launcher and runtime structure. Do not move files out of the Runtime folder.
Recommended File Workflow#
- Keep the original ECU, EEPROM or flash dump in a secure backup location.
- Create a separate working copy before processing.
- Create a simple folder for working files, for example:
C:\BIN\ - Open the working copy in iDecoder.
- Select the correct vehicle group and ECU function.
- Confirm that the selected ECU, memory type and operation correspond to the loaded file.
- Save or locate the processed file beside the original working copy.
- Do not overwrite the only available original dump.
- Verify the processed file and all required checksums before writing it back to a control unit.
Important: iDecoder processes files only. Reading and writing the physical ECU, EEPROM, immobilizer or dashboard must be performed separately with compatible professional equipment.
Do not disable the complete antivirus or Windows security system. If a package component is blocked, stop and report the exact filename and detection message in the resource discussion.
This software is intended only for authorized ECU replacement, immobilizer repair, module adaptation, diagnostics and professional vehicle service.
