TRW EPS Renault Modus — RTL02 Reprogramming Tool 1.01

TRW EPS Renault Modus is a dedicated legacy workshop utility for identification, reprogramming and functional checks on the supported TRW electric power-steering system fitted to Renault Modus. It is not a general Renault diagnostic suite: the included calibration data and user interface are centered on one EPS programming workflow and the RTL02 probe.

Supported vehicles, ECUs and files​#

The confirmed target is the Renault Modus TRW EPS/DAE unit that matches the supplied 41AN8330 and 41AT8330 data. Related TRW steering units appear in other Renault platforms, but that does not make them interchangeable. Before writing, the detected software identifier must match the application data and workshop documentation.

• Renault Modus TRW electric power-steering modules supported by the supplied program and calibration set.
• Communication through the RTL02 probe shown by the application, with CAN support libraries included in the package.
• 41AN8330 and 41AT8330 A2L definitions and the supplied 41AT8330 HEX program/calibration file.

Functions​#

• Establish communication and display steering-system identification and software status.
• Evaluate whether the connected EPS matches the available update data.
• Run the guided reprogramming operation with progress and result reporting.
• Perform the steering check offered by the application after a successful write.
• Select from the languages built into the original user interface.

System and hardware requirements​#

• A compatible 32-bit Windows environment suitable for a legacy workshop application.
• An RTL02-compatible diagnostic probe, correct CAN connection and working interface drivers.
• Stable vehicle battery support and uninterrupted PC power for the complete programming session.
• A recoverable original configuration and the exact EPS software identifier.

Recommended workflow​#

1. Read the EPS identity and record the current software value before selecting reprogramming.
2. Confirm the target module and supplied data match; stop if the application reports an unexpected identifier.
3. Connect battery support, prevent the PC from sleeping and complete the write without cycling the ignition unless instructed.
4. Run the steering test, scan for DTCs and confirm steering assistance before returning the vehicle to service.

Package contents​#

The cleaned package keeps the original executable, A2L and HEX data, CAN and Microsoft runtime libraries, configuration files and language resources. Prior workshop-session and VIN-bearing log files were excluded. The executable is unsigned and was not launched during preparation.

Important limits​#

Do not broaden this package to every TRW EPS or to every Renault model. A failed power-steering flash can leave the vehicle without assistance, so identification, power support and a recovery plan are mandatory.
